Please don't take HN threads into nationalistic flamewars, regardless of which nation you're for or against. It's not what this site is for, and destroys what it is for.
Could you please stop posting unsubstantive comments and flamebait? You've unfortunately been doing it repeatedly. It's not what this site is for, and destroys what it is for.
If you wouldn't mind reviewing https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html and taking the intended spirit of the site more to heart, we'd be grateful. You're welcome here, but we're really trying for a different kind of internet discussion, so we can't have commenters breaking the rules so badly.
Of course, it's impossible to know for sure what was LLM processed or not, but some of your posts (like this one) have been getting classified that way.
There's always a way to make your substantive points thoughtfully, though of course this takes more time and energy - sometimes a lot more - but if you'd please invest the effort to do that when commenting here, we'd appreciate it. Or, of course, it's always an option not to post.
Sorry, I can see how what I wrote wasn't clear. Let me put it this way: you can criticize EA without attacking a specific person. What you did in the GP comment was to make a statement attacking the person and then mention EA as an afterbit. That made your comment a personal attack, which is not ok on HN.
It's good he is getting it out in the public, on record. He'll lie, conveniently ignore techno fascist astroturfing, selectively moderate on hot topic issues and then point to some wabisabi philosophy on both sideism.
The majority of top threads on hn on any given days are legit flame wars and llm accusation mud slinging.
But you cant say Dario Amodei is an effective altruist. Incredible.
Please don't use quotation marks to make it look like you're quoting someone when you aren't. That's also a snark trope, and we're trying to avoid those here.
It's true that metacommenting about leaving a discussion in order to leave a supercilious last word is a flamebait trope. But please don't respond by breaking the site guidelines yourself. That only makes things worse.
